Delicious Gowns at Debutante

My generous friend Shenlei Flasheart, who previously operated the hugely successful "Prim and Proper" store in SL, has announced the launch of her new line Debutante. This elegant line of upscale gowns is designed for dancing the night away. The dresses have multiple flowing flexi skirt options, delightful detailed texturing and most come with matching accessories.

You will love having the option of wearing different skirts to match your mood. The mermaid skirt is perfect when you want to feel like a runway model. When you want to dance you may prefer the full skirt that flows with every movement. By using the gloves, jewelery and shoes that come with these delicious gowns you can create many different looks to suit whatever you might fancy doing in Second Life. These gowns allow you to get in touch with your inner diva *and* your inner princess.

Shenlei is a RL fashion designer and is currently working on a project I wanted to make sure people know about. She is educating folks outside of the apparel industry about human rights abuses in the apparel industry. You can read the first installment of many about children's rights abuses here.

Before I read Shenlei's blog post I was not aware that when I bought pretty sweaters adorned with beading in RL I was contributing to child abuse in other parts of the world. Sadly, the manufacturing methods used to produce glittery, beaded and sequined garments is quite abusive to its labor force. Please consider how garments are produced before you purchase outfits for the RL holiday season.

Luckily, we can indulge our desires for sparkly, embellished dresses in Second Life without guilt at Debutante. I look forward to seeing you in your new gown, enjoying the dances scattered around the lovely and romantic Shengri La sims.
