The Fortress of Beat was originally a small part of an IBM Exhibits build designed and built by Madcow Cosmos. Lorin Tone incorporated interactive musical and sound elements. This display is the same build with different musical elements built in this time.
When visiting the display, you will first land on a small platform which is surrounded by rather large tuning forks. The bases of these forks are playable...simply click for menu and select a loop to play in any one of them. You will find it amusing to create lots of noise by banging on things.
After playing with this, you'll notice a machine in the bass drum across the way. Here's how you get there: Walk off the edge of the platform and land on the vibes. If you're not thrown into oblivion, there's a good chance you'll land on the other side. Good luck.
In the bass drum, you'll find the "MusiCathedral", a recent build by Lorin Tone, which is fully interactive. It works just like the earlier toy you played....click on the prims for various instruments and take your pick.
This instrument is an "Ambient Metal" kind of style which we hope you'll enjoy...and make noise!
