At first The Returning looks to be a beautiful and slightly mysterious forest. There are birds chirping and the occasional frog calling to its friends. The sim is absolutely made for photography and I spent a lot of time flipping through windlight settings.
I am sure a good photographer and someone with Photoshop could do wonders with what they find here. I am a bit rusty and still do not have any photo editing software installed on this computer so my images are straight from SL. Please, please click through for a larger view. Do it. please.
More after the break
This is Second Life so you can find the mandatory piano in the forest. I have to admit the first time I saw the random piano in an unlikely place I thought it was interesting. At this point I want to see a tuba or a zebra playing a tuba or possibly a cupcake or even a harp. How about a harp? Maybe there could be a bathtub? No no, the bath tub is about as ubiquitous as a piano. Ok. Sorry. I am being fussy, aren't I? I do love pianos. I mean it.
What is that off in the distance? I am quite impressed with how Markus Inkpen has made this sim feel huge using views like this one.
The textures used at The Returning are amazing. The atmosphere is intoxicating. I think you will love it.

Maybe the piano is common, but the mailbox, not so much!
I must have missed the mailbox! Now I have to go back and see what else I missed.
I spent a wonderful time exploring here.
Such a wonderful atmosphere and, as you say , the feeling of scale is very impressive. So much to see (and miss).
Thank you for your wonderful blog too
